Now that the COVID-19 has made its presence, and doesn’t seem to leave anyway soon, it makes more sense to sanitize the devices we carry in our hands and pockets all the time, take to the bathroom with us, and them keep extremely tight, tidily close, to the body parts near our mouths.
When using a tablet like rented iPad, avoid rubbing your hands and touching your face. This is general advice you’ll get from the CDC and others, so it’s true. Holding an iPad, an iPhone, and iPod touch, or a Mac safe, keeping them to yourself, and washing your hands is sufficient.
Apple advises “gently wiping the hard, nonporous surfaces of your Apple product, such as the display, keyboard, or other external surfaces” with “70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipes or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes.” Apple products are manufactured from a range of materials, each with its own set of cleaning conditions. To begin with, here are some general guidelines that extend to all products. According to Apple guideline and safety measures:
- Just use a piece of smooth, lint-free fabric. Abrasive cloths, blankets, paper towels, or similar objects should be avoided.
- Excessive wiping can result in injury.
- Unplug any external power sources, computers, and cables.
- Unless otherwise specified for particular goods, hold liquids away from the product.
- Don’t get moisture into any openings;
- Don’t use aerosol sprays, bleaches, or abrasives;
- Don’t spray cleaners directly onto the item.
- Always power down your iPad, iPhone and Mac.
- Never use compressed air or cleaning products
